Overview

We designed our Axel Leather Sofa with clean lines in mind. It features your choice of leather on a simple industrial form, with bench cushioning, flanged edges and modern metal legs. Though intended for your living room, its kiln-dried, Contract Grade frame is durable enough for even commercial settings.

  • Solid and engineered wood frame with reinforced joinery.
  • All wood is kiln-dried for added durability.
  • Available in your choice of genuine top-grain leather.
  • Leather is a natural product. Variation in color and texture are inherent to each hide; no two pieces are exactly alike.
  • Metal legs in a Burnished Bronze finish (legs are removable).
  • High-gauge sinuous springs provide cushion support.
  • Seat cushion has fiber-wrapped, high-resiliency polyurethane foam core.
  • Seat firmness: On a scale from 1 to 5 (5 being firmest), it's a 4.
  • Back cushions are fiber filled.
  • Bench seat cushion is attached; back cushions are loose but non-reversible.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Our sofas only require minimal assembly. As part of our White Glove Service, this piece will be brought into your home, placed in the room of your choice, fully assembled and all packaging will be removed.

CARE

To keep your leather seating looking its best, avoid placing it in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Rub out minor scratches lightly with a finger. For oil-based spots and spills, wipe up any excess with a clean, dry cloth. Do not apply water. Rather, leave the spot alone: In most cases the spot should dissipate into the leather after a period of time. For permanent stains or thorough cleanings, we recommend contacting a leather specialist. For periodic cleaning and maintenance, we recommend Mohawk Leather Repair Kits (available for purchase in store and online). Learn more about how to care for your leather here.

Shipping + returns

UNLIMITED FLAT RATE DELIVERY – FURNITURE + OVERSIZED ITEMS

Our Flat Rate Delivery fees are based on where you live, not how much you buy. With Unlimited Flat Rate Delivery, an unlimited number of eligible furniture and select oversized items can be delivered for a single flat rate.

All of our Flat Rate items include our premium White Glove Service—at no extra charge—for oversized furniture and select fragile items. With White Glove, your order is brought into your home by a skilled delivery team on a pre-scheduled date, unpacked in the room of your choice and fully assembled, but not installed*. All packaging materials are removed upon completion.

Doorstep Delivery service is available for select items at a lower flat rate. With Doorstep Delivery, you are responsible for bringing the item into your home. Assembly and packaging disposal is not included with Doorstep Delivery.

PICK UP IN STORE

Select items are eligible for pick up at your local store. In-stock items can be picked up 2 hours after your order is placed at no additional cost.

Eligible non-stocked items can be Shipped to Store for a reduced flat-rate shipping fee, starting as low as $19.99 (on orders up to $399). Please refer to the item dimensions to ensure the product will fit in your vehicle.

EASY RETURNS

At West Elm, we take great pride in the quality of our merchandise. With valid proof of purchase, most items are eligible for return within 30 days of purchase or delivery for a refund of the merchandise value. Items that aren’t eligible for return are:

  • Made-to-Order (MTO) items
