The selections that are available in our rug sale come in diverse styles that they may even inspire you and make you more attuned with your preferences in design.
Since rugs go onto the floor of virtually any room in your home, including the bedroom, living area or kitchen, they help establish your design theme. You can choose to go with rugs in similar shades for all the rooms to give each room a holistic color palette or go with radically different rugs for the room to give each of them their own character and make the rooms visually refreshing. If you are unsure of what style would complement your existing furniture, choose a rug in a neutral color with a subdued pattern if you want to highlight your existing furniture. Alternatively, you can choose a rug with bolder pattern and color to provide contrast to a particular room if you have furniture in plain or neutral colors.
Size should also be among your most important considerations when purchasing a rug, so before you start browsing our rug sale items, take measurements of the area where it will go. For the living room, rugs should be large enough to go under the front legs of all the seating furniture in normal layout. Rugs for the dining room should ideally frame the dining table and the chairs, with enough space to keep everything in even if you pull out a chair to sit down and dine. If the rug is going to the bedroom, the standard size should cover two-thirds from under the bed and run about 12 inches or so out of the sides and the foot of the bed. The sizes of our rugs range from 3 feet wide by 5 feet long to as large as 9 feet wide by 12 feet long.
The length of the pile on the rug determines the level of comfort that it provide with each step you take. Shag rugs have a long pile that gives you a luxurious feel, making them ideal for bedrooms. Short-weave rugs, such as kilim and ikat, work well in high-traffic areas like the kitchen and living room. If you want to make your flat-weave rugs feel softer, use a rug pad underneath them, which also helps keep the rug in place.
